I am an independent book editor and writer with more than thirty years’ experience working with authors, agents, and publishers on nonfiction projects. During my in-house publishing career, I worked at Ballantine Books, Harmony Books, William Morrow, and HarperCollins.  I founded and developed the award-winning and bestselling cookbook program at Broadway Books.

Books I’ve edited and ghostwritten as a freelancer have been published by Atria, Ballantine Books, Grand Central, Little, Brown, Rodale, St. Martin’s Press, Shocken, Penguin Random House, and others. I also assist authors who prefer to publish their books independently. My areas of expertise include business, cookbooks and wine, fashion, health and wellness, how-to, illustrated, lifestyle, memoir, narrative nonfiction, parenting, psychology, and self-help.

In 2007, I founded bell book and handle, a literary consultancy that has helped many authors create, write, and sell their book projects. I am a member of the Independent Editors Group, the premier professional affiliation of New York City-based, freelance editors, and Women’s Media Group, a New York-based association of women who have achieved prominence in the many fields of media.
